YAKUZA – Complete Work On New Album

Chicago cult progressive avant-jazz metal band YAKUZA have completed work on their sixth full-length album “Beyul”.

Seen as one of the most underrated, distinct, and unique American metal bands of our time, YAKUZA have always been synonymous with music eclecticism; the band creating a volatile yet searing hybrid of pillaging progressive metal, jazz, and grindcore.  Through the extreme shape shifting musical transitions, one of the most defining characteristics of YAKUZA is of course the vocal delivery of renaissance metal artist/musician Bruce Lamont, and even moreso his incorporation of saxophone into the mix of the music.  A trait that at the time when YAKUZA began to use said instrument in metal, and the way Lamont incorporated the saxophone, it was something unheard of.

“Beyul” (check out the significance HERE) continues the path of 2010’s triumphant “Of Seismic Consequence” and continues to take YAKUZA’s sound beyond the trodden path they laid down since their 2001 debut “Amount To Nothing”.  When “Of Seismic Consequence” was released, the band’s first endeavor with Profound Lore Records, YAKUZA would generate a new awareness for themselves never before experienced and with “Beyul”, the band will continue to gain more recognition with one of their most daring, epic, and commanding offerings yet.
