CAINA – “Hands That Pluck” Album Announcement

Seminal UK raw black/post metal act CAINA have completed work on their most ambitious, epic, visceral, surreal, and dreamy album to date, “Hands That Pluck”.

In what Stereogum has deemed the best CAINA album to date in their “Hands That Pluck” preview HERE, “Hands That Pluck” is a sprawling, vast, sky bleeding opus that literally culminates all of the influences that CAINA sole proprietor Andrew Curtis-Brignell has build up within his vast musical repertoire.  By not only presenting some of the most aggressive and stripped down CAINA material to date, “Hands That Pluck” also presents some of the most progressive, psychedelic, and dreamiest moments that Brignell has ever incorporated into his material.  Where the aggressive, raw, and most primal moments melt together with some of the most epic post-rock/metal-ish and ambient/experimental moments, “Hands That Pluck” is an observation where CAINA take all said elements to their extreme.

“Hands That Pluck” also sees, for the first time, Brignell bringing in the most contributors he’s ever had on an album.   Along with past contributor Jon Curtis-Brignell coming back into the contributing fold, “Hands That Pluck” also features guest-lead vocals by Imperial of cult U.S. black metal band KRIEG (on the track ‘Murrain’), Renni Resmini of cult U.S. hardcore band STARKWEATHER (on the track ‘Callus And Cicatrix’) and Chris Ross of BLOOD REVOLT/REVENGE/AXIS OF ADVANCE who does lead vocals on the storming track ‘I Know Thee Of Old’.

And as a bonus, “Hands That Pluck” will be presented as a two-disc set (that will be priced as a single CD) with the bonus disc being the 54-minute “Old Songs New Chords” EP which will be a select collection of re-worked tracks vs. their original and re-mastered carnations, along with a Nico cover.
