MENACE RUINE – Complete Work On New Album
Montreal musical enigma MENACE RUINE have completed work on their new album “Venus Armata”.
Written and recorded from Spring 2013 to Spring 2014, this sixth album by Menace Ruine is the natural follow-up to “Alight in Ashes”. With “Venus Armata” the duo’s exploration continues with their most vocally intriguing and focused album to date. “Venus Armata” is also the band’s most musically refined album likewise despite the same minimal set up, and raw primal sounds which seamlessly thread the sonic palette through the likes of experimental music, martial ambient/electronic, noise/industrial, darkwave, and neo-folk respectively. A novelty this time, the addition of Geneviève’s sistra, nutshell instrument (kamutef), and wrist bells which add life and subtleties to the rhythms has allowed her to charge the songs with even more energy and intention.
