OCCULTATION – Complete Work On New Album
NY-based progressive dark metal band OCCULTATION have completed work on their new album “Silence In The Ancestral House”.
With a distinct mix of prog, classic metal, and ‘80s dark rock/goth woven within the band’s intertwining complex sound picture, OCCULTATION (featuring NEGATIVE PLANE vocalist/guitarist E.M.) conjure a sound so singular and spellbinding, one in which they have made more advanced and otherworldly with their follow-up to their “Three & Seven” debut LP.
Recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE) at his God City Studios in Salem, MA, “Silence In The Ancestral House” is an album which lies on a whole other plane when compared to the acclaimed debut. Where there is a stronger focus on the prog-aspect of the band’s sound, with many more layers lurking within the mix through more complex and at the same time even catchier song structures, “Silence In The Ancestral House” is a haunting, alluring, and mind-bending listening experience unlike anything you’ll hear this year.
To officially be released in North America on Oct 14th (and via Invictus Productions in the UK/EU, NA vinyl edition to be handled once again by 20 Buck Spin just after the release date) tracklisting for “Silence In The Ancestral House”, adorned by incredible artwork courtesy of Adam Burke, goes as follows:
